Soreness In Upper Arms

Danza Saidi

Dance or Raks Al Saidi Asaya is a folk dance originated in southern Egypt (the Upper Nile region). Formerly, men Saidi (pastors) had long sticks (tahtihbs) to defend. A martial art originated, which later led to a dance in which simulates a fight with sticks.

Women made their particular version of this dance with sticks, more refined and elegant, using canes, shiny or sequined. The style is very peculiar. It requires skill and strength to handle it gracefully cane while dancing. Balances can be made with the stick (above the head, hip, hand on, etc), perform multiple turns with him, hitting the ground, etc.. The rate used is the Saidi.

The traditional dress dancing a Saidi is a robe or Galabeya. It is common to decorate it with coins and a handkerchief to mark the hip.
